I started off my journey towards Kumite Fruit Punch, with ordering the product from the website 'Kumite.energy' and was delighted to see that there was both a caffeine free and extremely caffeine loaded option. 200mg per serving. Quite the kick. However I went with the Fruit Punch because I don't need the caffeine, as I spend all day in a seated position and don't want to risk anything. Viewing these product from the eyes of an athlete however, I can see the benefit to getting a mighty boost in energy, so do bear that in mind.
The ordering process went smoothly and the order arrived within a few days.
What's important here, is of course the product itself and how it compares to my previous similar orders, such as GamerSupps. In this specific case, I will be comparing it to the taste of GamerSupps called "Good", which promises a 'cherry slushie flavor'.
The first taste tester had a history with GS "Good" as well, and had noted with the Cherry Slushie flavour, that it tasted rather synthetic and the chemical taste lingered in the mouth for the majority of the day. Whereas the Fruit Punch Hydration flavor from Kumite, had a pleasant, easy flavor, without the same chemical aftertaste and let's call it "Backdrop" in the mouth. Not only did they go in for a second glass but was actively excited to come back and visit the house again for another taste.
The lack of caffeine didn't scare off our other taste tester either. They are known to drink a lot of coffee throughout the day, but enjoyed the taste of the Fruit punch to a degree which is hard to describe. However the feeling it left me with was poverty, as i might have to go back and order more sooner than later.
As for my own accord, the short answer is, i didn't love it, but it was better than the GamerSupps "Good" Flavor, mostly because of the removal of the lingering chemical, not to mention the fresher kick from the more realistic flavor of the Fruit Punch. I can't quite put my finger on what is missing flavor wise, but I've had my reservations about the whole "no sugar, no crash" idea from the first time I ordered GamerSupps and the likes. I love the "no crash" part, but the sugar. When you enjoy the sweetness, it comes at the cost of a certain expectation to go to something without.
All in all, it tasted very good. But lacking that natural sweetness. I might just try adding a spoonful of honey later. Nothing beats nature's sweetener.
